last seeds

last seeds

It has always fascinated me the unexpressed power of the seed from which the trunk, wood, leaves, branches, and in turn itself again are formed. It is, the seed, a perfect symbolism for children who strive to recognize their destiny expanding their freedom. (more of these foolish thoughts on my Catalogue)

green leaves

green leaves

The green is the colour of meditation, the union between giving and receiving, opposites that attract and repel, the blue that sucks up and the yellow that invades. A colour of balance and quietness.

a place a waiting

a place a waiting

Home, maternity mean fixed home, a sedentary life. A peaceful situation but that doesn’t allow major movements or travels. In an irony of fate, I read on those very chairs etchings by various convinced nomads.

the woods

The tree transforms into a forest with reduced dimensions, a pastoral wood, where a path is merely suggested, often shown up by the light. It is a place where I ask myself new questions and where I find a formal voice.

childhood memories

childhood memories

In this group of works I tend to instinctively associate garden with childhood because I feel it is an image of the golden age, lost forever with its greedy fruits.

gardens

gardens

The tree has here become coloured, it grows in a garden and gives shade, protection and food. It has found its space, enclosed in the garden. The garden, where life continues its fluid cycle, protected, pure.

roots and foliage

roots and foliage

The tree dresses itself with an uniform foliage, compact, intent on hiding what is essential, something in itself that it doesn’t want to reveal but wants to shelter and protect.

trees and waters

trees and waters

Gradually I eliminate more elements and remain meditating with and on little: earth, water and the tree’s breath...a cloud suspended half way between the canvas and the sea.

totem trees

totem trees

Trees that survive the harsh of the desert, that can depend on just a feel of humidity have always reminded me of the power of faith.
