Il suolo è uno spessore non una superficie ricco di vita.
Servono 500 anni alla terra per creare 2,5 cm di humus fertile dal quale ricaviamo il 95% del cibo che abbiamo sulla tavola. Una volta depauperato, è perso per sempre. E' stato dichiarato una risorsa non rinnovabile poichè lo span di tempo che serve al pianeta per rigenerarlo è di scala troppo diversa da quella umana. Questi 5 cm rappresentano una clessidra orizzontale in cui l'umile humus ( da cui viene Homo) è portato ad altezza occhi.

Soil is a thickness not a surface rich in life.
It takes the earth 500 years to create 2.5 cm of fertile humus from which we get 95% of the food we have on the table. Once depleted, it is lost forever. It has been declared a non-renewable resource because the span of time that the planet needs to regenerate it is on a scale too different from the human one. These 5 cm represent a horizontal hourglass in which the humble humus (from which Homo comes) is brought to eye level.
