HUMUS SAPIENS

è un piccolo gioco di parole ma che racchiude secoli di filosofia e atteggiamento scientifico rispetto alle risorse naturali: la scala gerarchica in cui gli uomini si sono posti in relazione alla natura, a questo participio sapiens non del tutto appropriato, alla divisione natura e cultura, l’allontanamento degli esseri umani da ciò da cui più dipendono, la reificazione degli elementi naturali, il loro sfruttamento e così via.
Si possono citare filosofi, ecologi, poeti, scienziati, podologi, biologi, evoluzionisti… e tutti potrebbero portare un contributo all’espressione simpatica ma amara che porta l’uomo a farsi più umile, a guardare sotto ai piedi, a rispettare il suolo.

It is a small play on words but it contains centuries of philosophy and scientific attitude towards natural resources: the hierarchical scale in which men have placed themselves in relation to nature, to this not entirely appropriate participle sapiens, to the division between nature and culture, the distancing of human beings from what they most depend on, the reification of natural elements, their exploitation and so on. We can cite philosophers, ecologists, poets, scientists, podiatrists, biologists, evolutionists… and everyone could contribute to the nice but bitter expression that leads man to become more humble, to look under his feet, to respect the ground.
